NEW PREWASHING TECHNOLOGY
Recently Sorema delivered and put in operation a new designed RPET wash line with 4 ton/h output capacity.
The plant is successfully in operation in a country of East Europe.
The system allows to process the most contaminated bales of PET bottles, converted in high quality RPET flakes.
This new process combines the great advantages of the bottles pre-washing (wet‐process) with dry and clean environment after the new patent wet pre-washing system.
The machine cleans the surface and removes the labels of the bottles, including the shrink labels.
The labels are perfectly separated from the bottles immediately after the pre‐washing phase.
The process does not allow the water to enter the bottles.
This was the major cause of the water dripping using the traditional pre-washing technology.
The possibility to run clean bottles liberated by the labels and free from water dripping improves the efficiency of the all recycling operation. Allowing all the advantages to sort and grind cleaned material after the pre‐wash phase.
The quality of the RPET flakes is excellent, the new process reduces the operative cost with lower consumption of the energy, chemicals and water. Also the space requirements are considerably reduced.
The advantages of this new concept will allow to reconsider the dry phase approach before the wet Grinder.

NEW PET FINES WASH LINE
In line with the latest technical development, the RPET fines wash lines meet a growing interest.
New systems are already in operation and others will come within the next months.
This technology allows to recover the growing quantity of fines which are also generated by the increasing percentage of thermoforms
into the bottles stream.
The fines could be hot or cold washed, dried and if necessary sorted by color and / or by polymers.
The material finds application as pellets: in thermoforming and fibers. As fines mostly in fibers.
